Neurotoxin injections refer to the use of substances that interfere with nerve activity by blocking neurotransmitters, the chemicals that transmit signals between nerve cells. The most commonly known neurotoxin used for medical and cosmetic purposes is botulinum toxin, which is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

The most popular brand names for botulinum toxin injections include Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?

Patients will come to our clinic and get a full assessment with Dr. Chang that aligns to your aesthetic goals or medical needs.

The procedure involves Dr. Chang injecting small amounts of the neurotoxin into targeted areas using a very fine needle. The effects typically begin to appear within a few days and can last anywhere from three to six months, after which the procedure may need to be repeated.

Patients should avoid lying flat, wearing a hat, rubbing the treated areas, or excessive sweating for the first 4-5 hours.

We will check in with patients after about 7 days to see how the treated area is looking and "touch ups" can be scheduled as needed.
